LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) recently announced its endorsement of Advocates for Malibu Public Schools (AMPS) Co-Founder Karen Farrer in her campaign for Malibu City Council.
“Karen Farrer has long been active in the Malibu community including in the school system where she worked to address pressing environmental issues. Farrer would bring valuable learnings from this experience to Council in order to effectively champion issues such as open space, waste prevention and toxin reduction,” said LALCV Director Kirsten James, who led the organization’s Endorsement Team for this race.
“LALCV has worked for more than forty years to help candidates that support protecting the environment,” Farrer said. “I am running for city council to preserve the environment and lifestyle we love so much in Malibu. Open spaces like Bluffs Park need to be protected from development. I am grateful for LALCV’s endorsement and its tireless work to protect the environment.”
Founded in 1976, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) is dedicated to electing leadership throughout Los Angeles County to preserve, protect and enhance the environment. LALCV has helped elect more than 100 pro-environment officials throughout the county. LALCV endorsements are determined by its all-volunteer Board, which is composed of Los Angeles County residents committed to advancing environmental priorities.
