Advocates for Malibu Public Schools Co-Founder and longtime community volunteer Karen Farrer launches Malibu City Council campaign focused on public safety, responsible land use, and local control.
MALIBU, Calif. – Advocates for Malibu Public Schools (AMPS) Co-Founder and longtime Community Volunteer Karen Farrer recently launched her campaign for Malibu City Council. A 40-year Malibu resident, Karen is focused on bringing local control back to Malibu.
“Whether it is our schools, our roads, or our open spaces, interests outside of Malibu have been making decisions for Malibu without our input or our best interests in mind. If we are going to maintain and improve the Malibu way of life, we need forthright and dedicated leaders willing to stand up to outside influences and bring back local control to our community,” Karen said. “For almost 30 years, I have dedicated my life to serving Malibu. When I am elected to the Malibu City Council I’ll continue my efforts to preserve our amazing community and way of life.”
Karen’s track record and years of dedication to the City of Malibu have earned her the endorsement of many of Malibu’s community leaders including current and former elected officials, city commissioners, and community volunteers.
Karen is a graduate of UCLA and has lived in Malibu for 40 years with her husband Cameron. Karen and Cameron have three children – Bridgette, Reed, and Gabby, and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild later this year.
